the apathy of my generation and the others that follow it appaul me. in france eariler this week they tried to pass legislation stating that any job could fire someone under the age of 26 for any reason if they had only worked there for under two years. riots immediately broke out in the streets of paris adn in 80 surrounding villages. they are a country that cares passionately for itself as a whole. when two muslim boys were killed as a result of police neglegence in Paris riots exploded and continued until legislation was passed that allowed muslim immigrants in the country be more than a second class citizen. our country has become so ego-centric that nobobdy cares, not even you about anything that has happened. Bush's newest round of oppressing tax cuts puts every college student 3,000-4,000 more in debt. that raises the cost of daycare for single parents. that greatly taxes the mentally handicapped and critically ill for their medical expenses. i agree that nobody fucking cares. you'd all rather be getting high and fucking yourselfves into oblivion but isn't that what our country is all about? the right to freely choose? while you may not care i do. I'M MAD AS HELL AND I I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE. for years i've longed ot move out of this country and leave the rest of you to sit and brew in the quagmire of lies and bullshit but i can't. because i love this country because i love these people and because i cannot allow a villian and his shadowy goverenment to continue lying to its people. even if you'd rather pulg into your fucking iPods and ignore me thats fine. but i refuse to think that there isn't anyone out there that will listen and that there isn't anyone out there that will want to make a difference. the time for boring sign holding and singing in a fucking drum cirlce are done. a co worker of mine, a former hippy who demonstrated at the anti-vietnam marches in DC in the sixites said that peaceful protest gets you no where because they can just ignore you. if you want to sink back into your comfortable little life and continue on as though nothing has happened like the rest of the country then thats fine. i have my own agenda. i have my own cause. you don't have to join me you just have to listen.
