Startling revelations. Most of the things I utter are uttered in a mumbling sort of way. This leads me to believe that I'm speaking too low for others to hear me. Recently, I've realized that I'm not speaking too low to others, but rather too loudly to myself. the last paragraph made me laugh. i always like to be really polite to people in the service industry(i think we talked about this last night) and if i'm not really paying attention i walk away feeling like a complete ass(ex: telling the barista "you too!" after she says "here you go, enjoy" or "thanks for stopping by"). i think, like you, it comes with not having enough practice actually talking to other people.

anyway, now i will find it even more interesting whenever you mumble something and i can't understand it the first time.

i would also like to point out something i've noticed about all of that since i've known you: you don't mumble in florida. sounds bizarre and like bullshit, but its true. its easier to hear and understand you both on the phone and in person. and now it makes sense to me.
