So it seems we have preliminary plans for relocation. I've been researching living in Leeds, and I'm officially excited. Rent and properties are actually sort of reasonable (at least from sites I've looked at) and the job market is pretty good there. So we've decided we're going to give our notice at work in July sometime, take our last amount

Maybe your friend might know of a cheap place to let for a temporary basis???? Are you in good contact with him/her?
