So after all the depression and bitching about the bad job offer with Weronika, I got a phone call Thursday afternoon from Apple computers in Cork, asking about an interview and proceeding with the application process. I'm really trying to keep my hopes not too far up, but I sent her an email this morning, explaining that I would like to pursue everything a bit further. It's a fairly short preliminary contract, but the money's not too bad. It seems the starting salary is 20,000EUR per year with 20 days of holiday. Not too bad depending on the cost of living in Cork. I'm assuming it's expensive, but cheaper than Dublin would be. I'm excited enough that I've been checking my emails every 5 minutes hoping against hope that she'll get back to me fairly quickly. If I get the job however, I'll be going a couple of months earlier than Weronika to get a kind of scope of the land. And she did mention the fact that the job starts in the middle or the end of October, so of course, it would have to be a pretty quick decision and move. Plus the thought of me alone without a wife in the land of whiskey sounds a little intimidating, but I think I can rise up to the challenge. I'm just really hoping that this will work out for me/us as I really want nothing more lately than to get the fuck out of this atrocious country. Well, not the country so much as Warsaw. More to come.
