It's that time of year, where everyone is on each other's nerves. One full week of class is left and well... ugh, I have my work cut out for me---school and other stuff. I keep wondering about a 'what if?' scenario lately, which is if I actually was on track in college and only did one concentration... what I be ready to step out in the real world right now? I can't even answer it, because I feel that I have found out what I want to do by adding additional concentrations. I'll be ready next year this time. I want to be done with my undergraduate career more than anything, right now. Next semester is the last semester of "classes" and then in the spring semester I'll be on internship. It's about time! My classes for next semester are: Modern Drama, World Lit. 1, Advanced Video, Marketing Communications, Printmaking, Motion Graphics, and an Independent Study to waive Advanced Graphic Design. When I get my independent study approved, I'll be dropping either Motion Graphics or Printmaking. And as far as what concentrations I want to do an internship in, would be both Professional Communications and Graphic Design. I've been looking up a few places here in Mass. lately to see if they are "credited" under the school and what process I would need to go under to get them "okayed" by the school. I don't know.
The pitch for Advanced Video is this upcoming Wednesday, I'm not pitching anything though. I'm hoping to get the gig of Producer... maybe Lighting and if not, then last resort would be Art/ Set Designer for Advanced. The class seems already split into groups. So hope all goes well. If I were to get Producer, I would want to get almost all pre-production stuff done before school starts and have September as a time buffer for any last minute things/ catching up on things... then hopefully start the real thing in October. It would just make things easier for everyone and more organized. I know of a few people pitching... we'll see though.
Things are going EXTREMELY well with Jake and I. :) We just celebrated six months last week, along with his 23rd birthday. He's amazing and a great guy. I really do love him with all my heart.
As far as Jodes and Joce go, I briefly caught up with Jocie a few weeks ago on the phone. And I talked with Jodes last week. I'm glad that Joce moved to Florida with Brian. They both have really grown up. But the Cape isn't the same without them. Jodes and Massey just got a new cat and I saw the pictures.
So at the beginning of this semester, I made a goal for myself being that I would enter 2-3 pieces into VISIONS and hopefully actually get one in. & I DID! My postcard design was picked to be the won used to be sent out to recent Alums and current/ prospective students. The printing process was a pain, but it was well worth it. I'm generally happy with it, because I have a hard time with Graphics at times and I finally had something to be proud of. Btw, I saw Nicole M. at VISIONS (I know you read this & I read yours :)).
Greek Week '08 went well. We proudly came in 5th place, but the thing is... we had a total blast the whole week- even if we did lose. I'm so proud of my chapter and all the accomplishments and strides we have made this semester. I love my Phi Sig sisters. :) And I will never be doing the Orange Squeeze again, but Little Little did a great job at it.
Ra-ing is fine. My building is still different from last year, but it's still cool.
