I remember Sarah Palin saying this last week and I think the network I was watching brought out a scientist to say the exact same thing. It's just ignorance and something to say that would appeal to a certain demographic. She also made the comment that other countries that have Socialism, ie, you know, free health care for all etc are less free than Americans. I was torn between wanting to smack her and laugh in her face.

I brought this up with my mother and she immediately jumped all over the fact that Palin is anti-academia all the way - teaching creationism in schools and religion; putting funding into social projects and taking money away from research into prevention and/or treatment of diseases. I guess it does appeal to a certain demographic. I just hope it's not a large one.
Can you believe the rhetoric going around now? Apparently, she (or someone around her) believes her capable of the presidency.

Fortunately, the demographic that it appeals to appears unable to win the election on their own. Ugh, at least I hope so.

The rhetoric right now is mad! And yes, apparently rumour is that they are looking for her to maybe run in 2012! She's already pulling away from McCain and doing her own thing, going off script at speeches. But it's all up to the Americans next Tuesday. ;)

**drum roll begins**

The news this morning is hilarious. Everyone is SOOOOO excited that it's the last week. You can almost see the drool dripping from the anchors' mouths. It's such a show! :D
Admittedly, I'm super-excited too. :)
