All birthdays seem to come at once.  Nymphadora's is "soon," meaning twenty days.  Anything less than three months is "soon" to a five-year-old.  Of course, it's Ted's as well which makes the whole affair even more important, double the presents to think up and party to plan.  I'm not sure what we'll do but it perhaps won't be so much a free-for-all as recent parties have been.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  Perhaps just dinner?  I haven't cooked properly in a while, it's ages away though.

Today began with a trip to the bookshop for Dora in which she was much more interested in one of the cats in the window than she was in reading anything.  I thought surely she'd get enough of cats at home but I suppose strange cats are more interesting.  Perhaps she'll hate cats later in life; it's odd the ways we influence our children.  Anyway, it was a trip for my own benefit in the end and I spent the rest of the day reading.  This has all been possibly the most boring thing you will ever see!
