Caitlin Kiernan's The Red Tree - Comment
K. I'm like, three years late to the party. But here's the deal: it was mostly real.
I've been reading so much Caitlin Kiernan. The fact that this takes place in the same universe as Silk and Low Red Moon (she referenced Chance Matthew's dead Grandmother right at the beginning of the novel) tells me that those weird weredogs Sarah Crow keeps seeing, along with the reference to the 'door that hinges', makes it pretty obvious. The tree WAS fucking with her.
Sure, she was also totally hallucinating some stuff.
Can't believe readers are all like 'she probably hallucinated everything'.
I really enjoyed this book and did not want it to end.
