Our hot water was cut off today, probably to make repairs to the system. They've had to do that a few times in the years I've lived in this building. No problem. Our building is clean and safe well run. In fact, I have an Xmas present I need to bring down to my landlord if I can ever catch her when she isn't in a meeting. Anyway, I'm sure they are doing the repairs today, because the hot water also heats the radiators. I'd rather them do it today, when it's 66F outside than last week, when it was cold.

I've been checking the water all day, because I didn't take a shower, on account of the cold water. About a half hour ago, I had hotwater. Yay. I jump in the shower, and begin washing away the sin day's accumulation of dirt and filth. About 3 minutes into the shower, the hot water cuts out. At this point, I'm pretty much committed to taking a shower, now that I'm covered not only in sin a day's accumulation of dirt and filth, but now soap and shampoo.

I guess I'm glad I can at least stand a cold shower. I used to take them all the time in summer camp, since there was no line the longer you waited, but there was no hot water either. I think it was worse because it started off at normal temp, which for me is warm enough to give some people a third degree burn.
