Animal update
Day 3 of being greyhounded.
OK, off to cook the dinner!
- Argos is responding quite well to the name change. He's very bright - picked up on the new name after only an evening. He's learning "lie down" too. (Greyhounds don't like to sit because of their physiology, so we're not going to even try to make him learn that.)
- We've had a couple of leg-hiking incidents, but he has not made a mess in his crate. We've rearranged our schedule to shorten the amount of time he has to spend at home alone - obviously not a problem on my work from home days, but on the days I have to go in to Freeport I'll be trying to get there an hour and a half earlier.
- He loves to go on walks and is very well behaved - we did not have to teach him "heel", he seems to go with it naturally. (Most of the time, anyway.)
- Bit is still mad at her daddy. Annie and Charlotte are being more affectionate than usual - I think they both feel like they need some reassurance. They are also furiously rubbing their cheeks over everything they can reach to claim territory. Mel and I are both trying to spend time with the cats so they don't get too upset.
- My kind and understanding manager has agreed to let me work from home while we're getting Argos used to his new life. I'll still be leaving him crated during the day, gradually increasing the amount of time I spend away.
