hunting
I spent a good portion of today out house hunting. There's one specific lot that I am really interested in. There isn't a whole lot of new housing starting in this side of town though. I guess just part of the slowdown. Unless something unexpected happens, I don't think I'd find a better option in the next 6 months for a new house. If I bought used, then it's wide open. I imagine I'd be able to get a decent deal on a used home. I don't think the market will be getting much better for buying. I worry if I wait much longer people might start turning around. And it really would be nice to put together my own house.
This lot has a wash on two sides which extend out a few hundred yards, so it's really nice. The lot itself is not very big though. They can't put the two plans on it that I'd like the most - the two biggest single stories. I'd have to put a two story on there, but even then it's tight. I'd prefer a single story. But the two story I like has a deck off of the master bedroom which would be really sweet. The property is so good I worry that it'll go fast. But they say they haven't sold a house all month, so I don't know. And it's about 7 houses down from my roommate. decisions, decisions...
But first I need to reassess my finances and figure out how much I can comfortably spend.
