Persy update
I was awoken (or is it woken) by a knock on my door at about 1 AM last night. Danielle went to give Persy some meds and found she had chewed through her IV line. She felt well enough to actually cause trouble! However, Danielle needed to go get more supplies from the hospital and asked me to watch her so she didn't chew through her IV catheter. Persy fell asleep in my lap after having a little bit of diarrhea on the towel. Danielle returned with a new IV set and an E-collar to prevent such occurrences from repeating.
When I woke up this morning, I was greeted with a standing, wagging, chocolate lab puppy. She had enough strength to wander around and chase Indie. The best part was she decided to eat on her own. Persy is acting like the puppy she is. Danielle reports no vomitting for today and semi-formed stools. Looks like we're on our way out of the parvo pickle.
The plan is to finish up her antibiotics and then completely take her off of IV fluids since she can drink on her own. We're extremely excited that she's had such an amazing turn-around.
