All right so last friday, January 20th, 2006 I flew down to North
Hampton, MA for a cross-country. It went very well I thought, I got
down there just fine and my radio communications were excellent, and I
didn't miss one radio call. Then as I got closer to North Hampton there
were other controlled airports that I had to watch out for. One of them
was Westover ARB.
As I got closer to my airport the Bradley Approach Controller told me
that my traffic was 11 o'clock. I looked out...and IT WAS A C-5
GALAXY!!! So I immediately said, "OK I GOT THE TRAFFIC!
674-DELTA-WHISKEY!" Then the controller proceeded to tell me that I
needed to keep up my airspeed because I had two A-10's coming up quicky
from behind! So I was like JEEZ OK!!! I was so excited. The C-5 went by
me and just watched in awe.
The C-5's wheel is probably almost as big as me. And the A-10's are so
powerful that they could put 5 Honda Civics under their wings and still
be able to takeoff. Then I landed at North Hampton and then took off
for Nashua again. On the way back it wasn't too exciting, but I do love
flying. The best part is I have the same flight instructor as I did
last semester, Adrienne Park. Which is nice. :)
My next flight is supposed to be Monday January 23, 2006, but I don't
think it will happen because we are supposed to get 4-7 inches of
snow...yeah can't really land a plane in that weather. I planned a
flight to Laconia, which will be cool because the approach takes me
over the water of Lake Winnipesaukee. Details will follow later.
Here are some pictures of the planes I was flying near.
Signing out.
