Stage Check A: COMPLETE!

Nov 18, 2005 11:10

2 days after my first solo, I had a stage check! A stage check is where
you dress up and go up with another instructor who is examining you on
what you do and how you fly the plane. First you are in the examiners
office and they can ask you anything and everything on what they think
is necessary to know. They can ask you every little detail about the
plane like this: "What is the minimum oil quantity can you have in the
airplane by the FOM?" But I passed! I went up and flew around, did some
maneuvers and came back. My first landing was bad, I was off centerline
and I bounced. My second landing though was perfect, right on
centerline and no bounce. I was also battling wind strength that I have
never faced before so it was a new experience for me. Then after I got
back Don, Andrew, and I dressed up in suits, wore silly hats, and put
on our aviators and went out to Panera Bread for dinner. After dinner
we went to Target where Andrew bought "Robin Williams: Live On
Broadway," and Don bought "American Pie." Then we went to the Pheasant
Lane Mall where I bought the movie "Eurotrip." After that we went to a
really nice chocolate shop where Don and Andrew bought some chocolate.
We also got free chocolate covered Peeps because we were dressed up!
*GOOD IDEA CHRIS!* I took some photos of our night so here and have
some fun!
