My Trip - Day 1 (03/09/02)
NOTE: These are backdated and just so they won't be confusing to what is happening to me right now, all of the trip biz will be in bold.
mood: happy as a lark
music: something Thomas has on the system that is screwed and chopped
I am here!! It took an act of Congress signed by God to get me here but I made it. Thomas made it to me at about 12:30....which is about an hour before I expected him to be here. I know he drove about 80 all the way here. I was online talking to my girl J at the time.....which makes me wonder what everyone is up to since there is no computer at his house. I might check later on. Anyhoo....we didn't even go to sleep until about 3. Just the initial excitement of him being in my presence kept me awake. We got up at around 7 in the morning. We both were so pitiful, lol. We showered and left the hotel at 9:30. We stopped for breakfast at Burger King...yea I paid. Then we hit the road. We talked about some of everything on the way down here. There was a lot of silence though.....I was nervous. This would be my longest experience with his family. He understood though. When we got Vicksburg(3 hours and some change away from the starting point) we made our first stop so we could change drivers.....I drove for the next 2 hours and some change because after that is all city and metro areas. I'm a country girl. I can't navigate all that yet, lol. His mother called his cell phone when we were about 2 hours away to speak to me! She called to ask what I wanted to eat when we finally got here. So she cooked up some fried catfish, fries and hush puppies. His sister made strawberry cheesecake to go with it. MMmmmm....these folks are so good to me! So since I am at the food I will speed up to just hours ago. We stayed at his mom's house for the longest. We just got off the interstate and went straight there. Then I went to meet everybody and they mommas, lol. We made it to his house(finally) at 10-ish.....keep in mind we made it to Shreveport at 3:20-ish. We watched movies til about midnight with his brother and his girl. They are a sweet couple. Then my boo kicked everybody out so we could have some alone time.
That was the highlight of today.....which as I am writing this it is no longer Saturday...since it is after 2. We made love right there in the shower.....all over the bathroom....oops....my bad....it's been a while. Can't help it. The boy has skills, lol! He is knocked out. Considering that he drove 6 hours up here, slept 4 hours then drove halfway back....he deserves his rest. I won't bother him til the morning. I need to go to bed too. So good night.....I'm so happy tonight!
