Ramblings.......
Ugh... I so hate being sick. I don't like not being able to do what I want to do. I feel crafty and creative but because of my stupid cold I can't get anything to look right so I had to stop. I would love to cook but don't want to sneeze on the food. I am bored and need something to do while sick. Reading would just knock me out and then I wouldn't sleep tonight at all. I am hoping to get enough sleep tonight so that I can actually make it to work tomorrow long enough to give my students their portion of the test. Then hopefully I can come home and nap and try again on Tuesday. Of course the best case scenario is that I will wake up completely better tomorrow.
I have been drinking fresh citrus juice daily plus eating other fresh fruits, getting plenty of water and veggies and still I got sick again. I hate this time of year. THe weather in FL is so iffy that it is cool in the morning and then hot by lunch so everyone has the sniffles and because it is so close to testing no one stays away from work/school and so we just keep passing it around. I think this is strep with a little cold tossed in for good measure. I had gotten over it 2 weeks ago and then we had company and more company and the stress at work.
Spring Break is almost upon us ours starts at 4:00 on March 24. We have 2 weeks of testing starting tomorrow and then everyone will be a little relaxed for the next two weeks and then vacation. After that there are less than 2 months left of this school year. YEah..... Next year we are moving the middle school into a different location and if all goes well, I will be moving and teaching only middle school. The biggest draw of this for me is that I won't have to work with the people that annoy me so much at work. I really like and get along with all of the middle school teachers. My only concern is that the other math teacher isn't certified for elementary education and I am.... They will need someone to stay and teach 5th grade full time (2 classes of it) of course I told them before I took the job that I didn't do language arts. I can I just don't like it and I knew if I didn't clarify I would end up with it and low and behold the 4th grade duo tried very hard to get me to do it (they wanted me to do sentence structure/verbs/nouns,etc and spelling).... I did teach 7th grade language arts for 4 weeks but that was because we lost a teacher and I filled in for them.
If I do end up going to the middle school position, I will have to go to training over the summer for the IB program. IT starts a week after our wedding date choice and ends the day that LR would start or that Friday anyway.... Oh well... I am trying hard to find out. The AP told Master the other day that she hoped her and I both would be in the middle school and away from the stress of the duo, so that bodes well for it.....
