i'll start on saturday, that was the show at surges, not one of our best, the pa sucked so ya it didn't go so well, and then gabe broke my snare stand and he hurt his arm. so ya not that great.
then was yarbrough's last show, it was pretty sad. all the songs reminded me about my single lonely days. but ya they played great everything sounded perfect. it was a great night
and then when soma! played it was awesome. i love that first song they played. its a mix of hardcore and some classic rock riffs (ie Boston). i think for sparkle motion the hxc dancers got into a fight with the metal heads. it was crazy, but the metal heads left.
Sunday i went to the mind over matter battle of the bands finals with maureen. it was a very close competition. i agreed with the winners though (sorry hfe) but click the lj cut at the bottom to see why.
Monday i had orientation for target! yes just in case u haven't heard i work at target, the basset center location. it was fun i start working on thursday!
well thats all for today, until next time...

This is in performance order, their place is at the bottom...
Epitha- wow, talk about creative. opening up with the lights on their heads was pretty cool. the sound manipulator was also a very important factor to this band, that added the uniqeness. the drummer also was very original. of course the backbone to the band the guitar and bassist added that trip hop feeling they have on their myspace. I think they are not the type of music to be going with demoic but their still a great band. 4th place
Heartfelt Embrace- The only problem with hfe was their timing mistakes and i think some snafu's with the drums, couldn't tell though. I really like this band because not only can roman (singer) scream and growl, but he can sing and sing well. the last song is what won me over with these guys with the guitar parts and the solo's. All the guys have great energy which is why i gave them... 2nd place.
Victoria Drive- these guys were pretty good for their age musically, but i think they still got a lot of area's of improvement. i saw mostly power chords with the two guitars. i think it was the second song where i really liked the guitar parts cuz of the melody they were playing, plus they weren't strumming they were picking. For a group who mainly strums, they did not move at all, they just stood there and played their instruments. the bassists couldn't sing and play at the same time, either that or he needs to learn to sing closer to the mic. 6th place
Ursa Minor- Wasn't too fond of the singer cuz he couldn't really sing. besides that i really enjoyed them, the only thing that really sucked for them was the bassists popped a string in the middle of the second song and he's a vital part in their music, i could tell he stopped playing. Compared to VD they had a lot of stage presence and the drummer was pretty good. 5th place
AI Solar- remarkable band, they sounded like real musicians. they used a lot of dynamics and just like epitha were really unique. i wish they would play more local shows. the singer could scream and sing. the guitarist used their effects pedals to their full potential, and i really liked the drummer. Compared to Heartfelt Embrace, they were flawless. i couldn't find any mistakes whatsoever. thats why i gave them a... 1st place
5.3.9.3- they probably have the hardest music out of off the bands in the compitition. thats probably why the judges gave them 2nd place and i have to agree their music is hard. the only bone i have to pick with them is everything is too loud. they have one of the greatest guitarist in ep and u can bearly hear his solo's. when i saw them all i heard was noise most of the time, like their amps were turned all the way to the highest level. but i gave them this place cuz their music is hard and they go better with demoic than epitha... 3rd place
