No, I don't feel old.

I have a t-shirt of Figment from Epcot Center at DisneyWorld which I got in 1995 on a family trip down there. It's loud and brightly colored and awesome. And for being almost twenty years old has held up remarkably well.

I was wearing it today while I was out picking up something for lunch, and one of the workers there commented on how much he liked the shirt, but had to be reminded who the character was. And all were suitably surprised when I mentioned I'd gotten the shirt in 1995 and it had held up so well. And we had a nice moment.

And then another one of the workers off-handedly remarked, "I was born in 1995."

WHY WOULD YOU RUIN OUR MOMENT BY SAYING THIS YOU STUPID CHILD?

(I left off the "you stupid child" at the time. As well as the "Shut up and make my burrito, Peewee," which by all rights I should have added.)

Isak chides me at times for dwelling on reminders of my age, but I really don't feel old. Hell, I'm in my mid-30s wearing an almost 20-year-old t-shirt with Figment on it in public, and proudly. I've worn that t-shirt to work where I'm supposedly a professional person.

But it truly brightens my day when I can have a moment with another adult over something like Figment.
