HigaMyu daisenshuuraku

Saw the HigaMyu daisenshuuraku last night. Takuma icon is appropriate because he went to watch the show (and I heard from the people in TDC that he had a really good time, being all flaily throughout XD).

I decided not to try for a ticket for TDC this time, and instead chose to see it through Live Viewing here in Gifu. My theater held about 110 people and was completely full. :D When Crys and I saw the RikkaiMyu dairaku in Kyoto, the theater audience was really quiet, but my theater in Gifu was super into it. We clapped after the songs, clapped during the curtain call, clapped and squee'd and lol'd during the speeches and special LV-only messages, did the call and response and hand motions during the encore, etc. It was a lot of fun. :D

Since I'm not going to type up a full summary of the myu (I think Crys might do it at some point?), I'll just point out some of the things that stood out to me during the dairaku performance last night.

The first and most important thing is SEVENTH SEIGAKU. Damn, they're good. I mean, they had me the moment I first saw/heard them at the Farewell Party, but they've improved so much, even since seeing them in HigaMyu in Osaka and Nagoya last month. They've always sounded wonderful as a group (their harmony is amazing), but their individual singing has gotten so much better. And TAWADA. Good lord, Tawada. Why must he have such a beautiful voice and gorgeous looks when he is such a baby? >_< And why must the 2nd season Tezukas be so perfect? I was never really a fan of the 1st season Tezukas, but both Takuma and Tawada are my favorites of their casts.

As for the myu itself, there's not much to say that couldn't be explained in a regular summary. Tenimyu doesn't tend to throw the best adlibs into the final show (I suppose it's because it's the DVD show), and HigaMyu doesn't have as many adlib moments as some of the previous myus. The end-of-Act-1 daily adlib with a Rikkai member and Tanishi was quite epic this time. It was, of course, Sanada. Again. I saw HigaMyu three times, and all three times were Sanada. orz My Ingot luck is astounding. Of course I'd get the Ken/Tomotsune combo all three times I saw the show. ^^;;

Ogoe's shoelace came untied during the S3 match, and I (and Crys, apparently) spent nearly the entire time fretting over him. He did well, though, glancing down from time to time during his fancy footwork dancing in Be Cool and didn't trip over it. The only time I got distracted from it during the song was at the point when he jumps up and sits on Tanishi's back. In the background, you could see the Seigaku bench, and Kikumaru jumping and sitting on Fuji's lap. :D Made me a happy 36 shipper.

Speaking of being a happy shipper, there is so much SaeFuji love in 2nd season. <3

Let's see. Every scene Rikkai was in was amazing, as usual. The live viewing camera gave us some awesome closeups of Yukimura being badass with his smirky smile.

The curtain call speeches were fun this time. Tawada went first, and he got sniffly in the middle of it (though I'm not sure if that was due to emotion or because he may have caught whatever was affecting Mashuu and Iwa). Then we got Kaminaga's speech. He talked about how Rikkai were the senpais this time and mentioned that Rikkai will return to battle Seigaku again in the future. Then each Rikkai member gave a short little message, with Hide stumbling over his words (getting giggles out of the audience, and resulting in an embarrassed Niou), and ending with a "Joushou Rikkai!" :D Next, we got a short and to the point speech from Utsumi. He told us that he's not lonely (being the only Rokkaku member in HigaMyu) because he has a family in Rikkai, Higa and Seigaku, too, and that Rokkaku will be reunited at the Dream Live. After Utsumi, Doi got his turn. All five Higa boys were sniffly and wiping their eyes (so much for being ganstas), and Doi's speech was full of adorable fail. Last, Ogoe gave his speech, saying that Seigaku was still mada mada and that they would continue to improve.

During the call and response portion of the encore, we got Oishi for Seigaku, Kirihara for Rikkai, Saeki for Rokkaku (backed up by Fuji and the trio), and Rin for Higa, and ending with Echizen. After the encore, we got some cute final waves. The thing that stood out most was Yukimura picking up and carrying Chinen bridal style (Chinen then picked up Yukimura, too). It was rather unexpected. XD

All in all, it was a really fun show. Live viewing definitely made HigaMyu more enjoyable for me. I find the story rather boring, and some scenes (especially in Act 1) are really slow, but with the camera closeups focusing on the limited action that was happening, it made it much more engaging and easy to watch. For example, the Tezuka solo... It's normally beautiful but just kind of there, but with the camera zooming in on Tawada's face, I was just captivated.

After the show ended, the live viewing audience got some special messages from each of the teams. We were also the first people to know about the new CD that's being released on 4/24. It'll be a studio recorded single of all the encore songs. Type A is We Are Always Together, On My Way and FGKS, and Type B is We Are Always Together, Jumping Up! High Touch!, and That's My Future! Let's Go!. The participating teams are Seigaku, Hyoutei, Rokkaku, Rikkai and Higa. :DD The messages themselves were adorable. Seigaku greeted all 49 LV movie theaters (Fuji did mine), Higa+Saeki were just dorky and flaily, and Rikkai was... well, Yukimura was cool, at least. The rest of Rikkai was just insane.

And I think that's all for right now. I'm sure Crys will poke at me and point some other things out if I've forgotten anything important from the dairaku.
