So here I am/Counting down the days/Till California comes

Well- I'm home from California. My trip was... well- a trip. My flight out there was just the start. My flight to Atlanta was delayed almost two hours due to the craptacular weather in Georgia. I made my connecting flight, but only because all the connecting flights out of Atlanta were held. HOWEVER- that meant my flight wasn't going to Orange County, thanks to the curfew they have out there. I got re-routed to Los Angeles... FANTASTIC! I told Jon that they were going to get us a bus to take us down to John Wayne, but he drove up to LA for me. I landed at 2 am, California time, and couldn't be happier to be off that plane. Everytime I meet Jon at an airport I get those butterflies, like a typical girl. The excitement of finally getting to see him after three months totally wiped away the crappy flights and even crappier landing time. We didn't get to Orange County until 4 am... Blerg.

Saturday was a day spent out and about. We drove down San Diego, but I realized that I lacked my license and debit car. SO- Back to base we went so I could get them. Then it was BACK to San Diego. Just driving around with no real destination was nice. We ended up at the Marine Air Museum (Yea, we're nerds...). It was pretty neat to see the planes and helicopters. Jon spent the better part of 20 minutes trying to solve a puzzle game while I looked at tons of other stuff in the gift shop. Jon bought my dad a really neat shirt with different planes on it, a Huey patch, and a Huey pin. He also bought mom and I shirts that say "Remove before flight". LOVE the shirt. After the museum we headed to Ramona to have dinner at his friend, Tara's. Dinner was great. Her roommate has two daughters and they were great. It was real nice. We ended up staying the night.

Sunday started off with some rough housing with the two girls. We ate breakfast and hung around the house for a little bit. Then Jon, Tara and I went out to look at cars for Tara. We were unsuccessful, to say the least. After a few hours of walking around we went our seperate ways. Jon had to get his hair cut, so that was our first stop. After that we headed back to the base so we could pack an over night bag to stay at the house.

The rest of the week went as follows: Jon went to work, and I stayed at the house. I made him sandwiches and a bag of cereal every morning. Talk about being a good girlfriend- I got up at 430 in the morning to do that! One day Krystal took some cute pictures of us out in the backyard. She's going to mail me a disc with the pictures on it. We went out to dinner for my birthday. Twice. The first time didn't end so well... We got into our first real arguement... Did it suck? Oh yea. But it blew over by the end of the night... The truest test of any relationship is the ability to get past the bad moments. I'm proud to say that the second outing was much better. We went to Border's where he bought me a book that I said I was interested in reading- in passing. =)

The trip home on Saturday was not fun. First- I'm put on stand-by by Continental. I had to fight to make sure I was going to make it from Orange County to Fort Lauderdale. The guy was a complete ass who didn't want to do his job. Jerk. At least the flights themselves were ok. Crowded... but ok. Apparently if you fly at noon and seven you get meals. I also got to see P.S.- I love you. Cute movie...

Is it nice to be home? Sure... But I really like being out there. For now, I'm mopey, but it will pass in a few days. I got used to sleeping next to someone and getting beat up in my sleep. I got used to the horsing around and the accidentally elbows to the head. I just keep reminding myself that I'll be out there soon.

I think the best plan, for now, is to move to Sacramento for a little while and then moving south. I can't afford to live in Southern Cal on my own. I'm not interested in a teaching job, since finding one of those is going to be harder than finding a needle in a haystack. Everything will fall into place the way it should. For now- I have to be content with how things are...

Hope everyone had a great week and weekend. Tomorrow is back to the real world for me...
