On Conspiracy Theories

I am not a big fan of conspiracy theories, and yet, this one seems special to me. I am sure many people are trying to work out the details as I type this.

The bombing happens in Boston a few days before the vote on CISPA. On the day of the vote the photos are released, and an MIT campus policeman is shot (why do the suspects shoot a police officer sitting in his car??). MIT, one of the main world centers of the fight for internet freedom and privacy (just one example is Aaron Swartz, who almost single-handedly stopped SOPA), is shut down. Everybody's mind is elsewhere, the public is distracted. CISPA passes in the House.

Coincidence, of course. And yet, there is too much mystery around the story of the bombing, the suspects, the hunt, the investigation, the arrests. Many things don't seem to make much sense.

On an unrelated topic, one can not help wondering with regard to potential consequences of further opposition to CISPA. And will the President decide to veto it again?
