It's official...

... while an English degree is one of the most versatile degrees, it ain't gettin' you ahead in the job race. So, my word of advice to all you up-and-coming English graduates... STAY IN SCHOOL! There's nothing out here for you. Nothing I say! I'm still crossing my fingers for one of those nice little acceptance letters to come rolling into my mailbox so that I don't have to put up with this job-hunting shit anymore.

Speaking of, still no luck. Tried my hand at a local newspaper up in Celebration and, let me tell ya', kids, there's NOTHING going on up there. I worked there for three days and then the guy told me it would be a salaried position (meaning that, no matter how many hours I worked I'd only be making like $350/wk, which rounds out at 40/hrs to about $8.75/hr) and that I might work anywhere between 3 and 53 hours. Well, when I had worked my ass off for the past three days and realized that it would be much closer to the 53 mark, then factored in that it cost me around $8 in tolls everyday and that I'd have to fill up my gas tank at least twice a week (let's do the math - $8/day x 5 days/week = $40/week in tolls plus $35/tank x 2 tanks/week = $70/week. Now add the two together and voila!) that means that, after all of the shit I had to do just to get there, I'd only me making around $240/wk. So, not only did I almost laugh in this guy's face, but I immediately turned him down and left him on his ass. Sorry dude, I'm not driving all that fucking way to cover your stupid town politics and crap. FUCK THAT!!!

Of course, am still interviewing and whatnot. Hopefully I'll find something soon because I have a feeling that I'm going to have to start kicking in some money on this new car (if we ever figure out what the hell is going on with that).

In other news, I'm thinking of, when I finally do get a job, throwing a "CD Ripping Party" where I will supply food and le booze and you all can come and bring along your musicas so that I can replenish my poor, sagging music collection. Your thoughts? Like I said, I'd actually have to have the money to spare, so this may not be for a while.

As far as everything else, life is still kinda coming together as of now. It sucks when one thing just takes all the fun out of it for you for a while. But, I suppose, c'est le vie.
