Shiver me timbers! They remade My Friend Flicka and they completely changed the story. There is a girl, and college, etc. It is a travesty.

You can't tell me that there are no more original ideas out there that could be made into movies.

There are MANY. However, they would require a relaxing of what people expect in the traditional format. Movies have been in a rut for awhile now, and these incessant remakes are the studios spinning their wheels to keep within that traditional construct. Eventually plummeting ticket sales will force them to branch out hopefully.
