So things are still going well. I'm a little older as of this last Tuesday, yet no wiser.
Thanks to all of you who came to my birthday get-together, it was a lot of fun!
The economy has affected almost everyone it seems, so too has it affected me.
Hours have been slashed at good old JCP. Instead of working 2 days a week, I am being scheduled 1. I consider myself lucky though, as some people have no schedule at all for weeks at a time. I left my name with the store operator to call me if someone calls in sick, so I've been getting some extra days here and there. I have also just been informed by the powers that be that no one is getting any raises this year. NO ONE. I mean, they're usally pretty stingy with their raises anyway (it is, after all, retail), but I was looking forward to that measley 5%. Boo hoo. Also at Dr. Tran's, she can only afford to have Dr. S. work one day a week instead of 2, so I'm working some half days and one full day instead of 2 full days. I'll have less "fun money", but I'll get by. I'm just thankful that I have a roof over my head and a car that is paid off.
In other news, my application to the RN program for this fall is ready to go and will be turned in ASAP (preferably tomorrow). Everyone keep their fingers crossed for me! I also had my first test in my Cell Bio retake class, and I think I did really well. So things are looking up there. Let's hope I get into that RN program. It would be a substantial salary hike, and RN's are always in demand.
