It looks like tonight will be the night my grandma finally passes away. Her breathing is getting really shallow, and she hasn't eaten anything for several days. I don't have words to describe the sadness I feel, but at the same time I'm glad she'll no longer be suffering. The people that run the adult family home where she lives called in a priest to give last rites. We're not a religious family, but I really think it was nice gesture on their part. There won't be any services for her, but we're going to take her remains to Kansas and bury them next to my grandfather, who died when I was five. They'll finally be together again.

As a twist of fate, my friend Michelle is currently at the hospital, ready to give birth to a beautiful baby girl, whose name will be Roslyn Nichole.

One life ends as another begins. It's ironic, yet oddly symbolic.

Please keep my grandmother in your thoughts tonight as she makes her transition out of this life. Thank you everyone for all your support.
