Has anyone seen those weird Flirtal adverts yet? They're mainly showing on E4 and feature three girls in 'sexy Santa' outfits singing the annoying jingle "I think I need a text" to encourage viewers to, um, text them apparently... for no other reason than the implied possibility of receiving a text from one of said scantily clad girls in response. Considering the adverts are very badly dubbed, the girls are clearly pornstar wannabes and the price of a text is so high they only mention it in the smallprint, I seriously doubt this company's getting a lot of custom. I mean, seriously, there are plenty of other services for sending sexual text messages, and most people have friends. If anyone can find a video of this advert online, please send it my way so I can inflict this torture on others link to it and wangst properly.
Another advert that's been annoying me is the 'Partner Tracker' advert... it's a cool idea, if it works, but considering they open with the line "pull a fast one on your friends" it's strongly implied that this is a joke or trick of some kind, and it therefore can't possibly work; logically speaking, if it did, it wouldn't be much of a joke, but would be a fairly cool gadget idea. Then again, if it doesn't actually work, the advert seems to be a bit of a scam. I know all these kind of things are, really, but it confuses me and I'm probably overthinking it... either way, I'm not wasting my money to find out!
This advert for Jackpot City Bingo is also irritating me:

This annoys me purely for the pronunciation of the word 'evening' at the end. I don't care if that's me being accent-ist or whatever; the point is, the rest of the advert pronounces every word in a generic, mainly Southern English accent, and yet the word 'evening' is stressed until it sounds as though it should be spelt 'eeverning'. Just go away, bingo adverts.
That BGR Bloomer advert is also getting ridiculously irritating. If you're going to make an advert about compensation, at least hire an actor that will put some effort into the part - this guy is doing you no favours at all. Ditto every other compensation advert ever made.
Those Ocean Finance adverts from way back when are worth a mention too, if only for the horribly memorably line: "Consolidate all your existing debts into one manageable monthly payment." I will never be able to erase that line from my brain :(
Ditto the Kall Kwik adverts, for this tragic line: "Call Kall Kwik as quick as you can, Ken!"
Now, some adverts I do like are those new Nokia 'comes with music' adverts :)

These adverts are clever, entertaining and most importantly do not make me want to smack my head against the screen. Take note, other advert making companies!
Also on this happy note, it's my mum's birthday today, and I spent two hours on the Skype talking to my family and watching her open presents :D
Eastenders has been AMAZING lately, people. This Tony-paedophile storyline has really got things going again and Coronation Street have nothing to compete with it barring their upcoming storyline regarding Sophie Webster (yep, the other daughter we'd all conveniently forgotten about) and her teenage pregnancy, which I'm assuming will be a miraculous virgin birth because surely they won't be able to actually make the viewers believe she's had sex. Also, copying your own past storylines much? *cough*Sarah Platt*cough*
But Eastenders - seriously, guys, if there was ever a time to start watching, it's now. Also, I am so looking forward to the return of Nick Cotton!
On the whole, I think it's clear that I watch an unhealthy amount of TV :P
