[Running, running, where is her Dad? She can't find him anywhere! Mom's in trouble and her Dad's nowhere to be found. She sees some of her parents' friends but they're too busy dealing with the Fire Nation raid. Everywhere she turns to, chaos is in sight. But the odd thing is, she can't hear their voices, as if they went mute or she went deaf.

[What is she seeing? Rita's not so sure, but something about it is really unsettling. Before she can have a chance to figure it out, though, Katara's right in front of her and--crying? Dammit, this is just plain weird.]

H-hey, what--What the hell is all this?!

Rita?

[No, the least she wanted is for anyone to be here when she doesn't have any control over her own limbs, her own abilities.]

Rita, get out of here! I can't--! [And suddenly, Hama raises her hands and this ultimately starts the puppet show. She doesn't know why it's still possible for her to bloodbend when Hama's already doing it to her. And she doesn't know how to make her stop.]

[Run away, when something is very obviously wrong with Katara? Rita doesn't even consider it.]

What? There's no way I'm lea--wh-what?

[She cuts herself off as her own limbs jerk in response to Katara's movements--and those of the old lady behind her, whom she hadn't noticed before.]

What's going on here?!

I- I can't control my movements! Not when she's-- [Katara raises her hands again as she pulls Rita against her own will.] She has me under her control. It's a waterbending technique that she tau-- I don't even know how I can still... [She stares in horror at what she's currently doing. This isn't happening...]

Th-this is your--[Waterbending can do this? Rita can't disguise the fear in her voice, even as part of her rationalizes that it makes perfect sense. But it doesn't change the fact that she's now moving beyond her own control. She attempts to resist the forced movements, but it doesn't seem to do her any good.]

Argh--I can't--I-if you're a bender, c-can't you stop her?

[Her fear puts her in shame. This is an ability she's not proud of, she wants to hide it if she can... but now, she's using it against a friend.]

I already did... before. B- But I don't know why I... I can't.. [Katara moves her arms again, now forcefully dragging Rita.] I'm so sorry... I'm terribly sorry... I- I wish.. [Her brows furrow in deep frustration but she can't do a thing. Hama controls her now and she doesn't know why she can't fight it like before.]

[As much as Rita perfectly understands that Katara isn't doing this willingly, it doesn't do anything to help them. It can't stop her from walking jerkily towards the benders, no matter how much she tries to fight it.]

S-stop wishing and start doing!

What do you think I'm doing? [As Rita says that, Katara tries to fight it, her hands suspended in midair. But that's fleeting because Hama glares behind her and forcefully directs her next movements. Katara yelps but this just ultimately has Rita crashing down the ground.]

Augh--[Suddenly being driven into the ground like that has Rita crying out in surprise and mild pain, and she can't stop herself from shouting back-]

I-I don't think you're trying h-hard enough here!

I am! You don't know how I--! [Hama once again directs her movements, and this involves dragging Rita face down on the floor and then pinning her to the wall. Hard and certain.

Will Rita feel one of her hands forming a fist? Yes, she will.]

[Rita would have a reply for that, but then she's being dragged and automatically closes her eyes in mouth. This is anything but right--being out of control like this and aware while it's happening? She desperately tries to move--something, anything besides what she's being made to do--but she's stuck fast. Her fingers curl into a fist involuntarily and her heart pounds. She has no idea what the hell's about to happen, but she really doesn't think she's going to like it.]

I...K-Katara, y-you have to...

[She hates how shaky her voice is, but there's no helping it.]

[Katara's limbs shake while she's trying to resist Hama's control over her own body. No, she won't give up. She has to do something, even if she can't fight her way out of this for some odd and malevolent reason. But in the end, she winds up not being able to do a thing as Rita's fist quickly connects with her own face by the wave of her hand.

She can't bear to watch.] I'm so sorry! I- I'm fighting it the best I can!

[Rita yelps, both from shock and pain. The faint taste of blood is in her mouth, but she ignores it and tries to force out more words. She knows Katara's trying, dammit, but she's still getting beaten up here!]

I'm trying! [With a frown, Katara stills her whole body again, shaking as Hama forces her to move against her will once more. It's becoming more and more difficult to! In the end, Hama glares and twists one limb behind her.]

Try and fight and you'll lose both of your limbs!

[Although the old woman is undoubtedly serious, Rita glares and snarls at her. Anger is easier to handle than fear.]

So what, you're telling us to give up just because you say so?!

[Katara's one hand is twisted behind her, her face a mask of pure terror amidst all the tears. Behind her, Hama's glaring daggers at Rita.]
