Keeping an Eye on Starblazer

Oct 10, 2007 11:38

As some folks may remember, I yapped a while back about the Cubicle 7 dudes licensing the old British sci-fi comic book magazine Starblazer for a mash-up with the Spirit of the Century SRD to produce one of the first commercial non-Evil Hat Fate RPGs -- a pulpy "rock and roll space opera" RPG where intergalactic barbarians and planet-eating spaceships are the mode of the day.

They're aggressively pushing forward with that project, and I've got a message in my mailbox with a lot of file attachments on it for me to take a look at. I can't wait to dig in; they've had several conversations with me during the development of the project, and we've talked in particular about Fate's "fractal nature" -- so we can be sure to see that principle interestingly applied to technology, spaceships, planetary systems, and galaxy-spanning star-cultures in this book.

It's still a number of months off from production, but in case it hadn't gotten on your radar before -- here's a nudge. :)
