Lately I've been feeling overwhelmed by the Dresden project. I mean, sure, I've taken on a lot of stuff, so the response is only normal, and every now and again it's good to take a break from writing. This past week has, in particular, been full of me sticking my head in the sand where that's concerned, outside of making the character creation session for our local playtest happen.
(Speaking of which, as a sidebar, Jenna, Ash, and Janine: I need to schedule some time with you to figure out the rest of the details of your character sheet, before we can really proceed with le game. Shouldn't be too time-consuming, I think, but I'd set aside half an hour-or-so for each of you.)
I'm saying this aloud mainly because I gain power from putting names on my problems. Description puts boundaries on a thing, and a thing with boundaries can be beaten.
I'm going to give myself this week to get my gumption back -- but past that point, no excuses. I'd been textcannoning (to the tune of a good 30-40,000 words in all, I think, though I haven't done a close count) up to this point, and I need to get back in the turret again, and soon.
Here's hoping. :)
(I choose 'cranky' as my mood, not because that's what I am right now, but instead because it's what I seem to be sliding over into now and again, as a sort of emotional punctuation mark, and also because I dig my little mood icon dude's cranky face)
