Greens and Blues... All of the Outside Hues

Apr 22, 2009 08:47

The colors outside are very intense this morning. All of the different greens and shades of blues... quite pretty, though it is very cloudy.

I attempted to fry chicken for the first time last night... I mean, I used to help my grandmas and mom fry chicken when I was a kid... but for some reason I doubted my abilities last night. Everything turned out okay, though. I even made some homemade broccoli slaw... which turned out better than I thought.

Christopher came over for dinner. Pop likes him more than I do, I think. It's quite hilarious. Usually, Chris comes over for dinner at least once a week, when he has time... and usually, after dinner and after cleaning up, he goes back to my room and catches up on sports and such, because he doesn't have cable at his house. Anyway, the poor boy works so hard during the day that he has hardly any energy late at night. He ended up falling asleep here, which was fine by me. But of course, Pop had a smart comment to make about it this morning. Whatever. I'm 25... we're adults here. Who cares. I wasn't about to wake the boy up and make him drive home half asleep... that's dangerous, ya know?

Anyway, a small aggravation this morning... but I'm not going to let it ruin my day.

Today I'm going to Juliet's. We have so much fun doing what we do... I love working with her, however, I need to get over the friendship factor and start looking for one full time job instead of having 3 part time jobs... I'm just scared that I have no qualifications... or that I'm going to mess up. This seems weird kind of... I shouldn't be doubting myself because when I lived in SC I had many different jobs and did well at all of them... and when moving back home I adjusted pretty well to the new jobs I acquired, too. I just need to get into the right mindset.

I need to definitely get a full time job that will help me pay for an apartment or something... Tiffany said she would be my roommate... which would be awesome. We could definitely live together. I've lived with many, many, different types of people and think I could live with just about anybody at this point.

Chris had mentioned something to his roommate about me living with them when they get a new place after their lease is up in June... that kind of surprised me because we hadn't really talked about it. I personally think it's way to early to live together... and his roommate thought the same thing.

SO... hopefully Tiffany will follow through with the idea of getting a place together. I hope I do too... just gotta find a JOB JOB JOB that will support the bills. We're both 25 and live at home, which isn't THAT bad... considering the cost of living around here doesn't match the wages for people our age... it's ridiculous. It's just a little depressing thinking about the situation; being 25, living at home, nothing really saved up and nothing to show for it.

Tonight, after work, I have to go to my brothers. My cat, Skat Cat (Casper), lives at his house now, ever since he had an eye infection last year and had to have it removed. He was my cat growing up and is pretty old. They took him to the vet yesterday. The vet found numerous tumors on his lungs. ):  Will said I need to come over and see him... and say my goodbyes.  ):  ):  Man, how awful.  ): Guuuh.

Pop and Laura leave Thursday for bike week in Nags Head... woohooo! House to myself allll weekend!

Did I mention that Pop and Laura are engaged? It happened in November... on the 30th... at a tree trimming party we had... and it surprised the hell out of all of us. They hadn't been dating a year when he popped the question. Everybody who knew pop didn't know how to react really. I ran outside and looked for my brother.... insane. I think we've gotten used to the idea though. It's just weird.

They set the date for October 3rd... which is two days before Will and Christina's baby is due. THAT, my friends, is going to be a hectic few weeks.

I can't wait for that little baby to come. I'm going to spoil it so badly. I'm convinced it's a boy because Christina's been so sick so early in her pregnancy.... plus they already have a boy's name picked out. Benjamin Henry Hubbard... A stately family name, I must say.

My cousin Emory had her baby the other day. Estella Lloyd Johnson... very classy, too, I must say. I love the name Stella.

My other cousin Ashley had her second child the other day as well (BABIES ALL OVER THE PLACE!)... His name is Jentzen Wyatt Peterson... different, but I like it nonetheless.

I have to be at work in an hour. Lucky me... I get to go in at 10 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays... and Juliet lives only 4 minutes away.
