Hello from warm (well, no), sunny (eh, also no) Florida. Vacations are normally supposed to be fun, but I have yet to be satisfied with this one. I've been here since Saturday, when we got in early and hung out at Universal all day. It was good, hardly crowded, very very low wait times on the rides, which were really cool. Each day though, we had to deal with mid-50's, when I packed for high 60's, plus, it rained fairly hard both days, soaking us. The condo's ok. The beds are pretty stiff and randomly the soap has abrasives in it which scratch your skin. Otherwise it's pretty nice; it has a kitchenette in james' and my room with tv, full bath and good space for clothes and stuff. It has a screened-in room which is a little cool to sit in, especially at night. We have a whirlpool right outside the window, which would be nice if we had remembered out swimsuits, but is a pain because some loud people like to use it late at night.
While the last couple days have just been ok, today was the suck. We got up at about 8:30... well, everyone but James got up and had breakfast. we ended up getting out at about 9:30, because the idiot wouldn't get out of bed. We got to the park without difficulty because, well, when I am driving and have planned out the route ahead of time, nothing goes wrong. It was nice and sunny when we got out and walked to the park. we parked at Epcot, then took the monorail to the transportation and ticketing place, found out that we couldn't get our tickets bumped up to two day (we have two sets of one-day tickets, and wanted to upgrade one to get three days total). Waste of about half an hour with that. after a ferry ride and another mile of walking, we finally reach the Magic Kingdom. Somehow someone decides that it would be a good idea to get all three parks done in one day so we can save a pass for whenever the hell one of us comes back. We spend half a day fighting our way through massive crowds, the likes of which I've never experienced before, only to be able to spend 70 min. in line for Thunder Mountain. We got the "speed pass," a.k.a. cut time in a third pass (=20 min. instead) for Space Mountain, only to find out that by the time our pass was good, that the ride has fucking broken itself! yay! yay for only getting to ride ONE thing at the MK! waiting 60-70 min. for every ride from splash mountain the the fucking small world ride is not my idea of spending the day.
So at about 1, we get some lunch at the most disgusting restaurant possible. every sit-down place was booked, except for something my parents managed to snag while we were in line for the one ride. thank you very much, dad. We ate at one of the walk-up window food joints, and I got chilli cheese fries, which was quite possibly the most horrible tasting food ever. directly afterwards, we caught the bus to MGM and spent some time walking around the place three times. We got to see a Disney animation special, the Aerosmith ride, and the Star Tours (wars) thingy. When we first got there, it was fine, but all of a sudden, we experienced a massive influx of people, honestly like a never-ending wave of them coming from an entrance. Fortunately, I got speedpasses for Aerosmith from some dude who felt bad for me. He felt bad because I got crapped on again. Fucking seagulls.
Immediately after rushing around MGM, we made our way to meet the parents at Epcot, where the other two, who had been whining their damn heads off all day, finally pussed out and didn't want to walk anymore. i really like the international part of Epcot, and they had some really cool shops there, so I didn't want to just sit around like they did. I ended up just walking the whole park alone, finding that there was absolutely nothing good in any of the stores. So I walked all three parks at least once today, but didn't really do anything or get anything because it was either too crowded, not interesting, or had been done in 2002 when we were here. Tomorrow we're taking a day off, and it's a good thing, because i need it badly. It's supposed to rain again, and we're just going to do some shopping, so mostly indoors, so that's good. We'll see how it goes, just get the legs a break. Anyone want me to pick them up anything? I'll collect some seagull shit if you want, apparently I'm good at it!
p.s. people suck. I hate all people.
