Pepper- amazing. If you have never listened to this band you should check them out. They remind me a lot of sublime but are truly very unique in themselves. Great vibes and great music. First band and best pit of the day.
The Starting Line- got to see them play one song. Best Of Me. It was sweet.
The Spill Canvas- Bands that usually cross over from acoustic to electric have a hard time looking like they know what to do on the stage. Spill Canvas was lame live. The only played like five songs. They closed with Stapplegunn. The rest I hadn't heard. No 3685. Or that other sweet song about the kids and the ocean.
Pennywise- Played a great set lots of old shit. I got my picture taken with the guitarist. The stopped the set mid song cause a fight broke out in the pit. "No fucking fighting. Stop stop stop. Now fucking hug it out."
Coheed and Cambria- Amazing as always. Claudio's voice is unfaultering as far as I can tell. Played some great old stuff. No Devil in Jersey City but I almost shit myself when he started playing Cassopeia.... and get this it was in its entirety... like all 6 fucking minutes or whatever and he sang the bridge. I've heard them play the song before but never the bridge... I went up on "And she screams Claudio OH!"
The Matches- This set made me realize that these are going to be one of the bands that get famous and then I get made fun of for liking them before they famous. They still put on a decent stage show. But I didn't realize their target audience was twelve. Not to be a snob musics music reguardless the core audience. But their whole ambeince just seemed weird.
New Found Glory- Great set. They played lots of old stuff. And it was their home town show so the energy was huge. The pit was ginormous and actually really nuts for pop punk.
Now all this said and done Miami was a lot cooler place to see Warped Tour than Detroit. But it sure as hell didn't feel like home. Lot less people. No where near the fan loyalty or just fuckin crazy ass shit that always happens in Detroit. I have seen concerts in a lot of different cities and Detroit crowds are the toughest around.
Lastly and damn sure most importantly
We got back stage. Saw a whole shit ton of rock stars. Got to hang out with Chiodos.
Chiodos- Best band of the day. We met up with the guys before they went on and I asked Brad and he got us on stage. Now the first thirty seconds of the set.. from that point of view looking at the crowd... just losing their minds... I almost shit myself. It was pouring rain and lightening. They were definatly one of if not the most watched band their. Pepper was first or a close second. Their show was just amazing. And it was so nuts to be that close on their level. After their signing we went back and hung out with them on their bus. Which was ballin. We were spose to go to the after party but we were exhausted and had too much time to kill.
Anyway all in all if your really still reading. Best warped tour ever.
