Original meme:
1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn on your music player and put it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a drabble related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts, and stop when it's over. No lingering afterwards!
4. Do ten of these, then post them~.
I decide to just set my iTunes library to random and wrote for whatever series caught my fancy with each new song. Genres vary, all are unedited so if you see any mistakes please point them out. I did 33 in total, 9 wound up being for Naruto.

Kushina wiped her forehead. She was used to humidity. You couldn’t live in a village named after a water feature without expecting the resulting water-induced weather to go with it. The buildings were all black, charred with the flames that had ravaged her homeland. The knot in her throat was threatening to break into a sob so she bent over once more, moving what had once been the roof to a shop out of her way, searching almost (mostly) futilly for survivors.
But it was clear that there were none. Complete destruction. No where to return to. A crow cawed in the sky as the sun beat down upon her. She swore as she tripped over a piece of wood, what had once proudly proclaimed in careful carving that the shop had had the best ramen in all of the hidden villages.
The crunching of footsteps along the cleared path caught her attention and she turned to the young man who was going to be the Hokage. “Never again,” she whispered. “Please stop theis from ever happening again, no matter what.”
“I promise.”

Minato froze. Kakashi’s eyes were wide with worry. Rin was twisting her hands in her smock. “Take me to her,” his voice broke at last.
His students lead him through the burning, through the rushing of ninja back into the village to his wife’s side. She was lying still, a small white cloth over her face. A woman sat beside her holding the small, crying babe in her hands. “She named him Naruto, Lord Hokage.”
He nodded and took his son from her arms. He was perfect in every way.
A monstrous howl shook the building. He caressed the soft pnk cheek. “I will always love you,” he whispered before heading out of the door.

It was oddly silent here in the deepest part of his mind. There was a war going on in the conscious world, but there was nothing he could do about it. Kyuubi had never taken oer this much of himself before, and as Naruto ran through the dank and dark hallways of his mind he felt his heart pounding all around him. Something was leading him somewhere, but he did not know what.
There was a shadow in the back of this room - blue eyes, old and weary with fighting met his own. A face he saw every day carved on the mountain. A face that looked back at him every time he looked in the mirror. Naruto stopped, skidding into the room.
“Naruto...” the voice was soft. Warm and compassionate. “You’ve come so far. But this is not where you should be be.”
“You’re-”
“Go. Now.” And he awoke.

Sakura shivered slightly and pulled the blanket tighter around her. Naruto poked the small fire with the stick he had found while collecting wood earlier and smiled at the flame as it flickered and grew stronger. The fire lit his face, etching it with a mysterious air, glowing in his blue eyes. He noticed her staring at him and he chuckled, putting the stick down.
“See something you’re interested in?”
She sighed and rolled her eyes. “Please, Naruto. Spare me?”
He laughed and she giggled. Just like old times. The forest was closing in around them, but they were here together, on the border to finding their missing piece. “We’ll definitely do it this time.”
She nodded.
“And when we do, we’ll all be together. Once and for all.”
She nodded again.

The sun was warm as the summer breeze caressed their shoulders. Minato watched his students with a sober smile. Obito had his eyes closed behind their orange shield, Kakashi was watching the grass wave, and Rin was making a flower garland. Just how much longer would these days last? Soon they’d be heading out, out to war.

It was an odd feeling. Shisui wasn’t used to feeling hollow, and Itachi noticed his cousin’s distraction. He laid his hand on her arm, black eyes shimmering with curiousity. She took the kunai from his small, free hand and twirled the heavy metal on one finger before sliding it off in a smooth motion and flinging it with a flick of her wrist into the center of the target.
Itachi watched carefully, and she knew he was calculating all the important physics of the action. He pulled out another kunai and mimicked her perfectly, even without his Sharingan.

“Well?” he asked quietly, trailing his hand down her back lovingly. Eyes soft in the morning light.
She sighed contentedly and brushed a lock of blond hair off his face, returning his smile with one of her own. She scooted nearer to him and kissed the tip of his nose. “I love you.” It was the most serious she had ever sounded that he could recall.
He wanted to tell her that didn’t answer the question. “I love you, too,” he assured her. “But is that a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’?”
Their eyes held each other’s as she opened her mouth to reply.

He’s standing in the living room as she packs her bag, wondering what he can say before she leaves. Because she will leave. He can’t stop her. She’s completely in control of herself, and a part of him wishes that she’ll act up for once. That she’ll scream and cry and beat the reasons out of him. He wants to explain so desperately, but if he could he would have already.
He looks to the doorway to the bedroom and feels the knot in his throat tighten. She’s finished and steps out of the room, meeting his eyes. They’re large and wet, and as soon as she sees him the veils go up once more, and he cannot read her.
He makes no move to stop her, doesn’t reach out, doesn’t block her path.
Her hand is on the knob. “Thank you,” she says quietly and slips out of the door.

Karin pat the man’s head like a pleased owner commending a pet for doing something correctly. “All yours, Kabuto-san,” she smiled with feigned sweetness. She stepped back from the table and walked out of the room, brushing past Sasuke on her way. She placed her hand on his thigh and turned to whisper, “If you’d rather go somewhere else while Kabuto plays-”
Sasuke had tensed at her touch and he slid his eyes to glare at her. Karin only raised a brow. “Don’t touch me,” he hissed.
“We could do it that way, too,” she murmured drawing away from him. He was absolutely galled by her boldness.
“Leave me alone. I’m here because this is of some importance to me,” he told her coldly.
She sighed and pouted. “Well, if you finish early, you know where my bedroom is, right, Sasuke?”
Kabuto smiled to himself as he cut the still breathing body open.
“Go away.”

He had taken to sitting on the Fourth’s head each night as he surveyed the village. Referring to the man who had long been his idol as his father still felt odd. He tapped the stone contemplatively. “It’ll be here, I promise.”
“Who’re talking to, you idiot?”
“The previous Hokage of course,” Naruto smiled at his long time teammates as they joined him.
