[since Suiseiseki had knocked, the Master - still in his jimjams, without any inclination to get out of them (nor, indeed, leave his room) for the day - decided to get the door]

[stands outside his door, present held behind her back nervously] Ah...h-hello, Master~ Um...Merry Christma--why are you in your pyjamas, desu? Were you sleeping?

[masteronhigh]

Not well. [runs a hand through his hair and steps back] Do come in, do come in. Take a seat. We can have some tea.

[concerned!Suiseiseki is concerned, but does as he says, keeping her present from view as best she can as she takes a seat in the same place she asked him to be her medium] Did something happen, desu...? If you're tired, you should sleep more, desu~ Or go to bed earlier. [nods sagely]

[masteronhigh]

Just a little joke from Template. Have I ever mentioned the Valeyard? [starts making tea, because he needs something after a night like that] Unpleasant fellow. Deserves to fall into the Eye of Harmony for an eternity.

Valeyard? [shakes her head, confused though, in true Suiseiseki fashion, pretends she isn't] I-I'm sure if he was important enough, you would have mentioned him, desu. Why? Was he in your dream? [pause] The Eye of Harmony sounds like it could be useful, desu~

[masteronhigh]

Oh, he's not especially important. But I did dream of him, yes. [continues with the tea, and sets out a plate of scones and cupcakes, fingers tapping compulsively on the edges of the plate] The Eye of Harmony is very useful. Essentially, it was the foundation for Time Lord society. We would have been just another species without it.

[actually hesitates before taking a scone, gift hidden carefully behind her on the settee, nodding understandably at the Master's description] You wouldn't be the Master without it? Then it's definitely important, desu! But, um...why should he be thrown in it? [frowns faintly] And why did he give you such a bad dream, desu? I-I would have helped if I'd known...!

[masteronhigh]

Because he's a very bad man. Which is an answer to both questions. Though I highly doubt the city would have permitted your interference. [raises an eyebrow] What are you hiding?

[dritte_tochter]

Interfere? How would I have interfered, desu? I-I'm supposed to protect the Master! [eeps a little, laughing weakly. now wasn't the time for gifts, after all!] I-I-I-I'm not hiding anything, desu! I just, um...I-I just came to see you, desu!

[masteronhigh]

I do believe that someone is failing to be entirely honest~

Ah...! Um...! I-i-i-it's nothing, desu! [eeps] I-I-I was just, um...I mean...! Y-y-your bad dream is more important, desu! D-don't you think...?

[masteronhigh]

No, for that is the past~ and the present takes precedent over the past.

[really can't argue with that logic, but doesn't like to lose, either] Y-y-yes, but...! If it's the Master, then...then whatever is bothering him comes first, desu! Yes? [grins, then shakes her head] But, um...ah...I-I did, um...bring something for you, desu... B-but I won't give it to you until I know you're okay, desu! [haha, winning argument!]

Are you saying that I take precedent over you?

[hadn't thought of it that way] Um...ah...w-well...! I-it's just, um...! [thinks fast] I'm perfectly fine, desu, but I need to make sure the Master is okay, too, desu~ Otherwise, something horrible could happen to the bond, and that wouldn't be good!

[sobers a little] Besides...if something is bothering the Master's dreams, maybe I can help, desu. I can open and close the doors to dreams, so...so maybe I can keep the bad ones out, desu...
