Something I wrote at MEPS

I've started my first steps to becoming a US Marine.  I'm waiting in my hotel room to go to a meeting at 21:00.  I first went to the north recruiting office to finish some forms, then Sgt. Cook brought me to the MEPS center; it's second in size only to the Pentagon.  All I had to do there was take the ASVAB test, then wait for the charter bus to go to the hotel.  A big chrome and blue beast pulled in front of the building.  I and about six other recruits - some from other branches - boarded the vehicle.  Moving through traffic, it sounded like a long-lived family dog; it reminded me of Madison and her 12 years of faithful service with the sound of its engine and a slight lag with every upshift.   We arrive at the hotel and I tip my hat to the driver as I disembark.   MY thoughts have not been far from either Christiana or my new friend Jessica.  I can barely contain myself to wait for meeting Chris; she captured my heart from the first time we spoke.  My roommate - Mike - and I are watching "The Chronicles of Narnia"; it drew an interesting parallel between the four siblings and my own journey.  God willing, I'll be better for it and I'll soon meet my new love.
