My sister received a small box of fudge made in New Mexico, I don't know the name of the shop, but the important thing is she SHARED. There is no greater love than that of a sister who shares her fudge.
I took a small piece because I'm like...on a diet, which is good. I'm basically just eating healthy and trying to exercise more. But the FUDGE! It called to me, man. Sister was standing about 6 feet from me as she offered the fudge to our mother. I watched as mom brought forth this huge, honking piece of fudge. I swear my eyes must have locked on it like I was a heat seeking missile and that baby was HOT! Sister looks over at me, her arm still out, still holding the box of fudge to mother as she says, "I don't guess you'll want a piece."
There was such a look of innocence on her face.
Don't ever fall for it. Just sayin'.
I forgot all pride as I was scooting forward in my chair, helplessly drawn to that heap of heaven in a box, my eyes wide and slightly unfocused, mouth open as I stumbled over the words rushing out that, "Well, I'd take a little piece." It's Christmas after all.
Everything sort of faded into the background once that fudge landed on my tongue and I closed my mouth on the first bite.
I am no longer an agnostic. There is a god!
