Lately I've been fascinated by how much of the city I live in is completely unfamiliar to me.
When I visit other cities, I explore. Getting lost in new places is an amazing feeling for me, but somehow I've never done it here. There are fringes of downtown leading into Springfield that are completely foreign to me, and I've never ridden my bike in San Marco -- that's the next area I explore.
Last night Caitie gave me a ride home from work, took a wrong turn, and suddenly we're in a neighborhood none of us have seen before. It looked a little creepy (ok, it looked like where you would dump the body) but that may have been the darkness and the eerie patchy fog that was drifting around last night. I would like to drive through there during the day, if it isn't some strange grid of streets that only shows up on foggy Wednesday nights when the moon is close to full.
Tonight is the 2006 National Rock Paper Scissors competition! Be there! I will be tending bar.
