*takes, inspects and grins* Merci! I'm not sure this wool likes me, you know. Doesn't seem to do anything like this book said it should. I'm trying to teach myself - is it very difficult to pick up?
*stares a bit* I think... *much slower than she did it, biting his lip with concentration, he completes half a row and shows her. It's not stellar, there are a few holes hither and yon, but it's more or less hanging together* Like so?

Is that so? My attempts are not yet wonderful, but with your expert guidance, mlle, they improve. *taps book* It's always better to learn by being shown.
