She gracefully takes a seat next to him and says with a light giggle, "Well, you're doing it all wrong. Obviously."

*offers up needles with a little clumsy stitching and mostly tangle on them* I'm a beginner *smile*. My name is Yves Feuilly, mlle.

"Blanche Ingram." She offers him a brilliant smile before taking the needles and the wool, untangling them in a matter of minutes.

"Voila!" she says proudly, holding it out to him. "I've been knitting since I was very little."

*takes, inspects and grins* Merci! I'm not sure this wool likes me, you know. Doesn't seem to do anything like this book said it should. I'm trying to teach myself - is it very difficult to pick up?

"Erm, yes, quite so. Something like that," Blanche says with another smile. "If you don't mind me saying, I have never seen a man attempt knitting, Mr. Feuilly!"

*small shrug and a smile* I was looking for something to do, and a friend was talking about his aunt who knitted. I wouldn't want to waste the day.

She beams, surprised. "I think it's wonderful!"

Is that so? My attempts are not yet wonderful, but with your expert guidance, mlle, they improve. *taps book* It's always better to learn by being shown.
