As usual, I'm a huge fan of your details. The way you reference Conor's bones as being prominent - it's true and pretty. One thing I liked? this dress that is so, so stereotypically Western that she either got it at a thrift store or some upscale hipster shop. That is incredibly fair. I love the little nod there that says a lot about Gillian's character without saying anything at all. She could be pretentious, or just truly earthy, but either way her intentions are good. You can't hold it against her.
And I fell in love with her and David. For the future, I'd love a little detail on the dynamic of the three of them in bed together. You set it up so nicely, and it's not really a sexual thing. It just feels very warm and comfortable, even if Conor keeps curling up smaller and smaller. I feel safe with them taking care of Conor.
Before I forget. THANK YOU for putting Justin in this. There are so many little hints in Conor's music that Justin is this incredible caretaker for him, and I love it when that's acknowledged.
Can't wait for more, my dear. Just lovely, really. Sad and lovely. ♥

"Are you hungry? I was just going to start making dinner."
You nods
I know it wasn't intentional, but I figured I'd just point it out for editing purposes. Not trying to be a snarkasaurus or anything.

And. Yeah. I admit to liking the dress part, mostly because I love those kinds of dresses, and you see them all the time on the countrified hipsters in Toronto. She's also absolutely gorgeous.
You'll probably see some of the dynamic in the second part of this. When I saw Bright Eyes perform in May, I was particularly struck by how easily Gillian Welch and David Rawlings incorporated Conor into their act, so that's part of where this comes from.
Also, yes. It's both Matthew and Justin who really helped Conor - Matthew was in a band or two with him, I think - but I wanted to acknowledge as much as I could. I'm making this as canon as I can, while taking my liberties. (I think I'm justified. Who wouldn't want to see Conor Oberst and John Darnielle?)
Thank you. ♥
