I was reading about chemical castration as a punishment for sexual crimes. I was so surprised when I read "criminals are required by law to take the drug"... and I thought, "drug?" I don't know why, but I seriously thought that chemical castration meant like... using an acid bath or something. Thinking of it now, I realize that would be really really painful and definitely cruel and unusual punishment, but I just... I thought they used some kind of chemical on the outside.
