mixed feelings

as a humanist, i feel the recent events with legal status of a person are absurd and only make us look horrible.
as a socialist, i feel that it is totally right for a man to work and earn money to make his keep and provide for his family. But at the same time NOT cheat the system by not paying tax. it is totally unfair to American citizens to have to pick up the slack of another nations troubles, and im not making Mexico the criminal, there is also Iraq and a number of other countries that rely on the United States. This is money we're talking about and our debt is at record highs and our a social policies and freedoms are becoming a thing of the past. Schools are in horrible shape, social security...HA!, healthcare is nocare and morale is lower than Sam Quinn's left nut. Thats face it, it is not fair to everyone who lives here and is a citizen to have to pay taxes whereas the man who comes across the boarder with no documentation can find work at higher per hour rates than most others, not pay taxes and when he is done, go home and live well untill the next trip. In Denver, a single construction worker can make up to $25,000 between May and October. Not only is that more than a teacher's starting salery, but the exchange rate into Peco makes it possible for an individual to live well for 8-9 months.
i sound like an asshole, but fuck. i pay my taxes in hopes that they will help to educate and take care of my fellow man. if one makes money here, they should pay the taxes here. taking and leaving is robbery and is wrong. im trying not to call anyone a criminal. im gonna stop here, its been a long day and the conversation i had with an migrante worker today just pissed me off. oh yea, wave a fucking American flag. if you want your card and you want to prove you care and you want to stay, dont wave your home countries flag, it doesnt help.
