I think it's general consensus that 2004 was a bad year. I'm inclined to agree. I'm not big on the whole resolution thing, but I think that if I don't move out within this year, someone will die. And that someone will be a member of my immediate family. And he'd probably have a moustache.
Such a grim way to start off this entry.... Ha! Bitterness is awesome.
I guess this will be my birthday/christmas entry also, seeing as I'm soooooo lazy.
For my birthday, I got a tripod for my camera, a vegan cookbook which rocks, and a buttload of money/gift certificates. I also got a paid half-day from work plus, free buffet lunch, plus $75 dollar check, plus $50 illicit scrap alluminum money. So my job's pretty awesome. Mind you, none of that was for my birthday, it was merely coincidence. Or was it???
Christmas was pretty good also. I got the best t-shirt ever made. I also got more money/gift certificates.
But! The best part about this time off form work that I have, aside from the obvious no work, would be "RANDOM ROADTRIP TO FAR AWAY FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN TO WALK AROUND A CITY THAT ISN'T LONDON: 2004" I can see this being an annual event. This time, it was Toronto. I have pictures, but my camera is away from me at the moment. I shall put them up soon however. In the mean time, I shall use words to convey to you the magicalness (new word, called it) of this trip.
At preciseley 10:04 am on Thursday December thirtieth, 2004 C.E. I picked Sam up from her house an we rocketed down the 401 towards Whitby. Such a good time. What with the awesome talking and comfortable silences. So we get to Whitby no problem, and pick up Aaron. This kid hasn't changed a bit. Which is awesome. I hadn't seen him since the summer when we tried to see the Beach Boys at Harris park, but failed, and only ended up hearing them and seeing portapotties and dirty, dirty people. But I digress. So we head to the GO station to take the train to Union, and then from Union, taking the subway to Chinatown. Now, considering none of us had ever taken the subway, or really knew where we were going or how to get there, the fact that we didn't get lost anywhere is nothing short of magicalness.
Once in Chinatown, we walked around. (Hence the name of the roadtrip). We went to the Eaton centre, walked around there for a bit, then went to Chinatown, and walked around there for a bit, I had lunch, then we went to the Kensington area (I think) and walked around there a bit. We walked down Yonge, which was dirty because I'd never seen so many porn stores in one place. But it was a cool place despite that. We walked back, I bought four books at the world's largest book store (apparently). Then we took the subway back to Union, our train was waiting for us, so nice of them, and we got back to Whitby. Aaron's parents made us dinner, which was really good. And then rather than rent a movie, Sam and I left because I didn't want to fall asleep at the wheel like-which happens every single time I drive on the 401 at night. Fortunately, Sam kept me sufficiently entertained so that didn't happen. So I took Sam home, she gave me my delicious and awesome birthday gift, and then I cam home and went to bed.
Like I said, pictures will be forthcoming.
Last night, I went to Josh's house for new years, because I really wasn't in the mood for any kind of booze-up, and Dmitry was there. I had a wonderful time seeing people I haven't in a long time, and meeting new people. We played Cranium which was a really fun game. Joanna's the best hummer I know. So we totally dominated that game, despite the fact that we lost. Pff. Oh well.
That's all I really have to say right now other than Dragonforce is the best band of all time.
