Long weekend

I worked the whole weekend, which is bleh. But it went pretty well, with a few exceptions.

On Saturday, I was in to close, which wasn't too bad - we did well with sales and got out on time, as well as making headway on the stuff that needed to get done before today.

On Sunday, I was supposed to show one of the newer girls was supposed to open with me, to learn how to open. So I get there. And wait. And wait. I'm doing the stuff that isn't that critical to opening, the stuff she won't need to know how to do right away, or could catch up on. Finally, I give up waiting and head to the bank to make the deposit and get everything else done. So, an hour passes, and I call her at home - maybe she forgot, or wrote down the wrong thing. No answer on her cell phone and her voicemail's full, call her house, and no answer there, so I leave a message. I get a call back TWO HOURS LATER saying "Oh, I wasn't on the schedule in the back when I checked, so . . . sorry!"

*grits teeth* Okay, fine. It happens.

Monday, the holiday, I open, and the whole time, I'm thinking "I bet she doesn't know she's supposed to be here to close today either." So, after the middle of the day girl gets there, I take my lunch, and make the call to ask her if she knew, so that, you know, she can get someone to watch her kid and actually be there. "Oh, no, I wasn't on the schedule, and besides I'm not available during the week. So I don't have any plans to come in at all today."

I could have fucking killed her. So Amber, who was there with me, offered to close, even though she'd been there early, and is fucking 6 months pregnant. So. I got things done, and left a note for my boss, since this is goddamned bullshit.

Well, evidently, she called today and told the store manager that she'd been told by someone else that she wasn't working this weekend. Something here doesn't jive. And I am . . . unimpressed and underwhelmed, and still more than a little pissed off.
