leaving work i notice the ground is wet, it was raining.. with wet conditions i decide not to wear my headphones, mainly because i wont risk ruining them but also its nice being able to hear more clearly during the night. it's 10:45 when i put my backpack on and hit the road. coming home from newport hills i get to go down the long stretches of road i once had to go up, winding around turns and flashing through bright intersections. the intersections is the most exhilarating to cross, night or day.
imagine riding through the street, your knees are flying up and down while your heart feels like its going to burst out of your chest. far ahead you see an intersection and the light is still green, you dont have much time before it will change. you exert all your energy and the pain surges into your legs and your heart pounds harder than you thought possibe. the pain will last for a minute, then it must go on longer to hit the light. then once you hit the intersection you ease off and look out for danger, and for a couple seconds it's all around you. cars ready to leave their spots, trying to turn after each other, people waiting at corners trying to cross. worse than all are the sounds, they become amplified and everything you hear is directed at you . i guess the feeling is most easily described as being in the dark of night playing hide and seek, and then for a second lights are shinng on you from every direction all your senses are suddenly hightend, then you are once more in the dark. but doing this in the night and rain is even more fun, things start to get complicated and you know your life is on the line around every turn.
after riding through newport i hit the backbay. the backbay is beautiful, and the on my bike is the only thing keeping me on the trail. then it starts to rain hard...
the rest of the ride home, that was alot of fun.. and i'm getting too tired to even apply myself with this update, i planed on writing an entire story.. but instead ill write half-ass one. goodnight.
