From Garchen Institute, Arizona
To Everyone in Garchen Rinpoche’s Mandala,
Please join us in the Garchen Institute Temple Saturday, June 11, to honor Drubwang Konchok Norbu Rinpoche’s liberation and the anniversary of the consecration of the Temple. We will gather together at 2:00 pm to do Lama Chopa practice (Lord Jigten Sumgon’s Guru Yoga) with feast offering followed by White Zambhala: Summoning Good Fortune practice for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Drubwang Rinpoche, an incomparable yogi of the Drikung Kagyu lineage, graced the Garchen Institute in 2000 for the consecration of the center’s Temple. This was Drubwang Rinpoche’s first and only visit to the U.S., as he was 80 years old at the time. As Drubwang Rinpoche entered the center, his barriers to omniscience were lifted and he taught for three days from “the place gone beyond.” This is what he said about the center and Garchen Rinpoche: “An opportunity to be in an environment like this is as rare as spotting stars in broad sunny daylight! This is a sacred place. Garchen Dharma Center is a sacred center. His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche is truly a living bodhisattva. He is one of the heart sons of Kyobpa Jigten Sumgon. I thank this wonderful lama who facilitated me attaining liberation from samsara.”
Drubwang Rinpoche urged us to practice the Three Kaya Mantras, which he said were the essence of the tantric teachings:
Amitabha: OM AMI DEWA HRI
Chenrezig: OM MANI PADME HUNG
Guru Rinpoche: OM AH HUNG VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUNG
He urged us to generate loving kindness and compassion for all beings as we recite these mantras and to sound them correctly and loudly for all beings to hear.
Please join us in joyful celebration at the Temple or from wherever you are, as we celebrate the anniversary of this momentous occasion.
OM MANI PADME HUNG!!
