Introducing lilhobbit

Hiya, I'm lilhobbit, the freak that Syrai usually drags along into her stunts. I'm also the co-creator of "Drifty Kones" which was earlier known as "Surrender to the Dark" when we still had it as a website. You could call moi an artsy person, which pretty much explains my tendency to like "style over content". Then again life is too short for things to always make perfect sense and the human ability to conceive is limited. Why should everything always be neatly folded and labelled simply as something our society considers it to be? Why are kittens kittens? Why aren't they puppies?

I guess it goes without saying that I have a knack of all sorts of weird stuff. I like all sexual orientations, femme slash and het slightly over slash because I'm finding it overused and way too popular. Sure little girls writing hurt & comfort fics about two perfectly beautiful guys is nice, but well-written femme slash just beats that anyday, imo. I'm also fond of triangles, threesomes, one-sided infatuations and all sorts of interaction. However I find it hard to read stories that don't have any kind of pairings, or romance, or just characters shagging the living hell out of one another. I like reading about the chemistry of relationships and find stories usually rather dull without it.

I read fan fiction more often than original simply because its easier. Also I like to see how creditable authors can get with characters that aren't theirs. I'm a little canon-whore who gets bothered when things change without a good reason and yet I love crossovers and AUs. I just usually like it when these things happen after the fandom's ending. Unless I've just seen a hott episode of some new show and refuse to watch further unless I've read a few AU fics where the characters just take off that one and be happy and shag like minks (for the record I was thinking of Alias' "Blowback" just now).

Ratings are a thing I look at a lot too. I read mostly R & NC-17 rated stuff because they tend to have a darker tone and spend less time being melodramatic. Also I just love imaginative sex scenes with rough, evil, violent foreplay, torture, mind games and all that stuff. I also love angst and dark themes that involve characters murdering and abusing people. It's just... nice. I tend to stay away from multichaptered pieces nowadays. I like shorter stories, they're a good reread. I especially love standalones.

Mostly I enjoy kinky, disturbing romances that never have a good outcome, but every now and then I bend and read some fluffy shit to make me smile. My love goes for all unconventional couples and some very disturbed conventional ones. When it comes to my favourite fandoms, I'm kinda picky. My taste in stuff variates a lot so it all depends muchly on what im high on at the moment.

My fandoms include Anime, Manga, TV, Game & Movie fandoms. I don't read real life fics, I find them insulting to the actors/celebs. Yet not all fandoms have that special drive I need get into the fan fiction. Some fandoms have such adolescent fans that their fics are all about peace, love and understanding in a fluffy way. Generally I enjoy fandoms with supernatural themes.

Some of my all time favourite fandoms include Hellsing. I'm a vivid Alucard/Integral shipper and enjoy manga based fan fics about nearly all characters. I especially like the rare Integral/Enrico pairing, because its so hard to get right. Alucard/Integral on the other hand have the most interesting mind games and powerplay. Hellsing has pretty much limitless relationship options. Plus I love vampires.

Then there's River/Jayne from Firefly. Opposites attract when these two are given a darker tone with a hint of the hidden fruit I'm all in for the read. Imo, River just is perfect and I can see why she'd be intriguing to Jayne and why he'd try and deny the possibility of them together. Yet I can't imagine River with anyone else either. It's the physicality of them both, he's the violent one, she just dances.

Ever since I saw Pitch Black for the first time I knew Jack and Riddick belonged together. The smut didn't enter the relationship until Jack's metamorphosis to Kyra in the sequel. Generally I like my Jack/Riddick with a twist of OTP and identity theft. I like those loyal fan fics that depict Kyra as an identity theft who just took Jack's place (the actresses are from a different planet as are the characters). Of course if it's Riddick/Kyra he must be dominating and if it's Riddick/Jack she must be his weak link.

I love Amon/Robin from Witch Hunter Robin but have found barely any decent fan fics about them. It's sad. They're opposites, have the age difference, the dilemma of her being a witch he would hunt if she fell and an open ending to the series. They also have chemistry.

Kiriyama/Mitsuko I love as a Battle Royale movie pairing. Haven't read the novel or the manga, but in the movie they just belong. For me it needs to be bittersweet smut with mindgames and dominance and violence. They're both killers, they wouldn't be blinded by their lust so easily. Generally I like Kiriyama's dominance.

Pyro/Rogue is just evil. When Pyro's made bad and not just a wuss, this pairing works. Especially if she wants him but doesn't want to admit it or act on it. This creates chemistry. I love their dialogue, I love the triangle with Bobby. Generally these two just make a delicious pairing.

From Final Fantasies... Final Fantasy VII works with Aerith pairings. I like shipping her with Sephiroth and Vincent. Once again, dark pairings, dark fics. Then I like pairings with the Turks. Especially Reno, he's cute. Kingdom Hearts is pretty much just an excuse to dwell on the Sephiroth/Aerith/Cloud triangle and FFVIII offers so many options I won't name 'em. I love the Yuna/Seymour pairing in FFX if made abusive. Especially evil standalones are nice. Then I like Paine pairings for the sequel. She's such an interesting character.

And that's about it. Meh, I ranted. Like really ranted. *face*
