the brains i had went to my head
I haven't posted any entries in awhile because Chia somehow spilled Mountain Dew all over the keyboard, which didn't break it, per se, but the stickiness of it made typing T's, W's, and spaces incredibly frustrating. Even typing in a live chat today with a customer service rep (buying Mommy's Christmas present) took 5 minutes for 2 sentences.
Today was shopping adventure day. I swear I have a masochistic streak, since I insist on making trips to places like Wal-mart and Target on Saturdays during the holiday season. I have never been in a Wal-mart that crowded, and that's saying a lot. Yesterday I went to Target and Old Navy and found nothing except a pair of shoes that might as well be made out of razor blades the way they cut my heels up.
I thought about buying eggnog today, but I'll wait until I can afford the liquor to go with it.
Oh, my sister came in last weekend. We went to visit my dad in New Jersey on Saturday, then spent some time at my great uncle's condo on Sunday, before wandering around the city on public transportation and strolling along Locust Walk at the University. Anna didn't want to go home; I felt bad, but it was nice to have her. I'm planning to go home on Christmas Eve and stay for a few days.
I got a 99.1 in my Second Language Acquisition class. I'm still waiting to hear how I did on my critical essay for Educational Linguistics. That paper sucked. I expect a B.
I sat behind a woman speaking Haitian Creole last night on the train. I am such an eavesdropper... I can't help listening to people talking on their cell phones, especially when I'm stuck with them in a boxcar for 20 minutes.
Chia, his friend Ron, and I went to see Tenacious D in concert on Wednesday night. It was a lot of fun, more fun than I've had at a concert in a long time. Definitely worth every penny.
Anyway... back to doing nothing in particular.
