SPOILERS for Merlin s4 episode 8
Merlin should have just knocked EVERYONE out and kicked the lamia's ass.
Also, the Gwen questioning why Merlin didn't fall under the spell was awesome. Too bad Merlin didn't do a very good job of alleviating her suspicion.
(Although it would have been amazing if Merlin said something like this:
Merlin: It's, uh, because, uh. I AM NOT ATTRACTED TO WOMEN!
At least its more believable than "him not being a knight" excuse.
