Character Information:
Character Name: Kairi
Age: 16. Ish.
Canon: Kingdom Hearts
Appearance: Kairi is a petite, red-haired young woman with blue eyes. Her hair just barely brushes her shoulders and has a habit of getting in her eyes, which is why she tends to keep it short. She's an active girl, spending a lot of her time outside playing physical games, like running around a sandy island and building rafts. She is toned rather than curvy, and her skin is lightly tanned from all her time spent under the sun.
Personality: Sweet, kind, and studiously loyal to her friends, Kairi is the kind of person you want to trust instinctively, and that trust would not be misplaced. When she meets new people, they seem to be drawn to her, even when she is a child-- Both Aqua and Mickey stop to save her from a group of attacking Unversed, and later Aqua gives her an enchanted necklace to keep her safe, despite having just met the child. Later, when her original home world is destroyed and she ends up on Destiny Islands, she is adopted by the Mayor's family. Riku and Sora hear about her arrival and instantly seek her out to befriend her, and the three of them become the closest of friends thereafter, a true three musketeers. Even when she finds herself waking up in Twilight Town later in the game, she is able to rather quickly make friends with Hayner, Pence, and Olette. She seems to have a sunny disposition and a welcoming demeanor that draws in even complete strangers, and she is never lacking for friends. She is open, honest, and trusting.
On the surface she might seem to be a simple girl with a good-natured demeanor, but underneath that skin is a very perceptive, clever girl who has a way of seeing right to the heart of things. It's very hard to keep a secret from her, and she often realizes things about the people closest to her before even they themselves do. When they are still building their raft in the first game, Kairi grows uneasy about Riku, and seems to recognize that something is wrong. The day before Riku opens the door to darkness and unleashes the heartless on their world, Kairi makes a not-so-joking comment to Sora about Riku. She is uneasy and possibly frightened about the changes Riku is undergoing, and the darkness building within. She perceived that something was going on and instinctively tried to draw away. When Axel shows up in the beach two years later, she instantly does not trust him, despite having no little reason for doing so immediately. He offers to take her to Sora, and instead she runs away from him. When she sees Riku again later, even when he is in his Ansem disguise, she does not shy away. She seems to recognize Riku's heart within the different body and trusts him, later even showing Sora how to see the truth beneath the skin. She seems to have a gift for empathy, or being able to see to the heart of others.
If things go bad, she picks herself up and moves on, preferring not to focus on the dark things in life. Even when they are stuck in the World That Never Was and facing unknown odds with Sora in danger, Kairi jokes with Riku, remarking on how hopeless Sora is without their help. She lightens the mood, showing calm and having faith that everything will be all right. When she escapes from Axel and follows Pluto into the unknown, she wakes up in a new, unknown world, surrounded by three strangers. She greets them and, instead of freaking out or succumbing to fear, she makes friends with them. Later, she can be seen talking and laughing with her three new friends in a flashback cutscene. She does not dwell on the unknown and does not let fear claim her heart, even when thrown into drastically new circumstances. She makes the best with what she has, and does her utmost to cheer the people around her as well.
She's got a good sense of humor and loves to tease her friends, but will always be there to support them when they need it. Whatever her friends need most, she will be there to give it to them: a good teasing remark when Riku's getting too full of himself, or a serious talk when Sora loses focus-- she's good at knowing how and when certain words are needed.
She's very organized and creative; a great person to put in charge of a group or a school project. Making lists and plans comes easy to her, as does directing other people without seeming overly bossy. When she, Sora and Riku make plans to build a raft, she keeps an inventory and gives Sora lists of things to retrieve for the project. She directs the boys and finds Sora napping when he was supposed to be helping them, waking him up with a teasing demeanor and getting him to focus again. She is good at lightly taking charge and directing them as they need it. If given a project, she can become very focused, putting her heart into getting it done and getting it done right. She also has a slight artistic streak, mainly with small crafts, and likes to work with her hands -- as shown when she would build charms out of seashells when she was younger.
She is very strong in a quiet way-- with unending patience, she can wait forever for something that is important to her. She never gives up on her goals and never loses faith in the people she cares about. When both Riku and Sora are missing for over a year, she holds onto the memory of them, even when a magic spell has made everyone else in her hometown forget Sora ever existed. Even when the time comes that she can no longer remember his name, she refuses to let go, and makes a personal promise to keep looking out for him. She is absolutely certain he will return one day, and decides not to got out to the islands where they used to play until Sora and Riku come home. She even sends him a letter in a bottle, with a heartfelt message showing her dedication and hope that they will be reunited someday, because she believes it is their destiny. She waits patiently for over a year for her boys to return to her, in essence refusing to move on until they do come back.
Despite this patience, she has recently decided that she would rather not just wait around, and wants to be right there to support and protect her friends whenever possible. For her friends, she can be impulsive. In the second game, after over a year of waiting has passed, the situation changes. When the opportunity presents itself, Kairi runs into the unknown, searching actively for her two missing friends. She follows Pluto away from the safety of her home world and into a swirling portal on a hunch it might lead her to Sora. She escapes imprisonment in the World That Never Was, following Namine through the halls and avoiding recapture, searching for Sora and Riku. She can wait and be patient if need be; however, given the choice, she would rather jump in and be active rather than passively waiting for events to occur, and if push comes to shove she is capable of fighting with an almost uncharacteristic fierceness. When Sora is in danger, she leaps from a balcony above and into a horde of swarming heartless, even though she is unarmed. Which is perhaps not the smartest course of action, but when one of her friends is in danger, she leaps into the fray impulsively, apparently deciding to figure out the details later. Her exact words are: "This time, I'll fight." After Riku gives her a keyblade, they can be seen fighting back to back, taking down heartless in an effort to reach Sora. She finds her strength when protecting the ones she loves.
Background:
Here! Canon point: After the events of the end cutscene in Kingdom Hearts II, after she gives Sora the glass bottle. They've just saved the world and everything is hunky-dory and -- wait, is that a message from the king?
Special Abilities: She can wield a keyblade :| Not that that will help much in Star Wars land, but maybe in the future she can learn to wield a lightsaber instead. She'd be brand new at it though :D
Also, she is super sensitive to the emotions of those around her, often shown to have great talent with empathy. She is a "Princess of Heart", apparently a very rare and special snowflake because there's only seven like her in her universe. The term means that her heart is "pure and devoid of darkness." In the game, Kairi is shown to have a surprising knack for perception, sometimes bordering on an unnatural ability. She notices Riku's going darkside before anyone else, and recognizes him later even when he's in a different body. In KHII, she is able to show Sora how to 'see' Riku, by having them all hold hands and telling Sora to close his eyes; when he does so, the false face fades away and Riku himself can be seen, the same way Kairi was able to recognize him. She also pegs Axel as 'not very friendly' upon meeting him. Pluto, a strange dog she'd never seen before, she considers vastly more trustworthy and follows him into an unknown, swirling black hole rather than take her chances with Axel. She trusts Namine almost immediately upon meeting her. Also, she seems to be in tune with Sora's heart, and when everyone else forgets him and moves on, Kairi refuses to, knowing there is something important she needs to hold on to.
Mainly, she seems to be very in-tune with the people she's closest to, and perhaps her 'Pure Heart' gives her the ability to see another's heart more clearly. I think this is pretty cleanly translated into force sensitivity and her having bonded with Riku and Sora so strongly before.

First Person:
[Curious blue eyes fill the screen, wide and inquisitive. The view pulls back to feature a young redhead, studying the screen with a determined expression. After a second, her lips pull up in an uncertain smile, and when she speaks it is with a light, friendly tone.]
Um, hello! I'm Kairi, and-- [A pause as her eyes flicker to the side, curious.] ... I'm not sure where I am. Has anyone seen my friends?
Sora, Riku, if you see this-- I'm in a big room with a bed and a window, and it's attached to some other rooms-- and there are a lot of people walking around outside, and-- Oh! The robot gave me some clothes, which was really nice of it!
[Drawing back, she regards the screen again for a moment, tilting it this way and that as she inspects the buttons along the side of the datapad. Then the picture steadies on her face once more.] I haven't been to that many new worlds before. I'm not really sure what to do now. So this is... new! [Curious, curious!] Although I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to be here. Anyway, maybe someone could help me out? I'm curious as to what this world is called, and... ah, just about everything, really. So if anyone listening could give me a hand, that would be great.
Third Person: I don't think I can top the
Candy Unicorn Log but if you need more from me, let me know <3
Anything Else: ROOMMATE PREFERENCE: People who... won't... kill her. Would be great. Please :D
