went paintballing today. most damned fun i've had in a quite a while, even though we played in the pouring rain at one point and some asshat decided to pound me at fifteen feet seven times! yeah, i've got some bruising from that one... lol

think i'm going to go out and get my own marker, part of the process of starting up this paintball team that tay keeps talking about. hell, honestly, i'll get it anyways just so that i don't have to deal with using the field's crappy gear.

nothing much going on otherwise. working for grandpa still sucks, but there isn't much i can do about that at this moment. probably going to have to quit during school, since he needs too much of my time and my grades have traditionally fallen because of it. thinking i might do something that is going to piss off grandpa, though.

you see, we've been having this fight for years about what you have to do legally in regards to payroll. for example, according to grandpa, the time that we spend travelling from the shop to a job site is time that he doesn't have to pay overtime for. so, if we work a fifty hour week, we get no overtime because ten of those hours count as 'travel time'.

now, i've looked up the laws and they state that travel time does count towards overtime. the only time that it doesn't if if we leave from our homes to the work site, as in using the company vehicle. but grandpa doesn't believe me because kirt (my uncle and his son) told him that his wife called the workforce commission and they said that it was legal. there are only too issues with this, though.

first, stacy (kirt's wife) will lie for kirt since the money that grandpa saves screwing the workers over goes almost directly into their bank account. second, the way that they explain it, it does sound legal. grandpa keeps explain that its travel to the jobsite at the start of the day. he goes into no more detail like loading the trucks up and such, so most people assume its a situation like the above mentioned exception, as if we are leaving from home.

but so the thing that i've been comtemplating doing is printing up the laws, including address for someone to check authenticity and giving it to grandpa when i quit, just so that he has the laws. but he'll probably never talk to me again afterwards, meaning that i wont be able to see nan very often. but i just feel like i can't sit by and let this happen. it would totally screw the company over and my family if someone was to report it and its not fair at all.

anyways, that bears more thinking before doing. for now, i'm off to see if there is anything good on tv.
